Williams Painting stayed at the location shown below for about 3 years. The Old Highland bottling company the building was built around 1900 and we spent a lot of time and money fixing the outside of the building to make it pop. We really liked the building however the owner we lease from was difficult to deal with and would not do any maintenance on the building's roof that had leaks from the time we moved it to the building.

Williams Painting's offices and Spray Finish Shop in Highland IL. This 100 year old building was once the Highland Bottling Company, and was run down over time.

Minor repairs to the siding, new windows, the original renovated shutters and eye-catching colors make this our pride in Highland.

Our Next location was The Wicks Pipe Organ building located at:

Location:

1100 5th Street, Suite 100 Highland, IL 62249

The Wicks Pipe Organ Company has been at this location since 1912 and the last Pipe Organ they made and sold went to Fiji about 5 years ago which was the year we signed our lease and moved in. This historical building in Highland was a huge factory approximately 80,000 square feet of which we leased about 4000 square foot of space as well as a large spray booth for all of our HVLP finish work for Aviston Lumber as well as our finish need of our contractors and homeowners that needed door, shutters, trim base, crown molding, furniture refinished and almost anything needing restoration. The building was really cool it was said to be haunted and It is my opinion as well as my wife's and several of our painter belief that in fact it is haunted. There were many odd things that went on that were unexplained and spooked nearly everyone that worked in the building at one time or another.

When we moved in the building's exterior was in rough shape. As we did with the first location doing what we do best we repainted it a beautiful brilliant white and trimmed all the windows and doors in a hunter green and of course put our sign up above the door. We remained here for 5 years I (Keith Williams the owner of Williams Painting ) Loved this building even with a few ghosts in it we all got used to the odd creaks and moans and unexplained things like music playing in the building even though nobody else was there other than me in the evening and I wasn't playing any music I would walk through the place looking but found nobody else there and could not figure out where the music came from?

The owners had the building for sale when we moved in but it had been on the market for several years but it to need a great deal of work done to the building and the owners didn't want to keep putting money in to it. So for the longest time it wouldn't sell finally last January Someone bought the building. Our lease wasn't up until June and the new owners didn't want to lease the building So that meant we would have to move again. We had been there for 5 years and really like that old building and made peace with the ghosts. I like old buildings and always have that's why we often take them on for restoration projects but unfortunately we had to move again.

I started looking for another place and had about 6 months to find it but nearly every place I looked in Highland was too small are too expensive. Finally, my wife Jackie and I decided rather then leasing from anyone else and having to worry about moving yet another time down the road for whatever reason we would just put up a build in the backyard of our property and install a spray booth as well and move our business home and so we did. Our shop is now at 21836 Dove Ln in Carlyle Illinois 62231. The business number is also my cell number and hasn't changed if you need a free estimate on your home's exterior or interior in need any finish work done. Please call Keith at this number 618-581-9427.
